“The River”

New Centricity artist and songwriter, Jordan Feliz has quickly found his groove in CCM, as his debut single, “The River,” has become a multi-week #1 hit at NCA for ten weeks and CHR for seven weeks. Jordan explained in a recent interview with Hallels.com just after the release of his first CCM album, Beloved: “The River” stems from John 7:38: “Whoever believes in Me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” The song is truly an invitation to everyone. To the person who feels they have lived their life by the book, or to the person who feels they have so much baggage and are ashamed to take it to Jesus. It’s the opportunity to go down in amazing grace and to rise up, being made new.”

Co-written with Josh Silverberg and producer Colby Wedgeworth (Hawk Nelson, Citizen Way), “The River” really hits home by reminding us of the simplicity of amazing grace and that “the emotional baggage we carry around doesn’t change the truth,” (quoted from Jordan in his NewReleaseToday Artist Profile). This approach certainly brought a fresh new sound in combination with Jordan’s R&B influences (such as Earth Wind and Fire, Sam Cooke, and The Commodores), essentially creating an entirely new Christian-pop sound that resonates with thousands of listeners.

When asked in an interview with The Digital Breakdown if he expected the amount success “The River” had received, Jordan answered: “Oh my goodness, no. “The River” has pretty much started my career on an all-time high. I don’t think anybody actually saw any of what the song has done coming…I don’t think anybody at my record label, anybody on my management team, not even me. Obviously, as an artist, you want to create something people love and cherish, because you cherish things you create. You also feel like God has called you to do this, so I want to worship Him in the best way possible in that.

So, you pray for favor for things, and that God would have His hand over your career. It has been such an overwhelming time for me, and I am eternally grateful.”

Jordan’s love for God, people and music continues to inspire new songs and new fans alike. He recently wrapped up the recording of a full-length record that will drop on March 22, 2016.  He also recently started performing on the “Beautiful Offerings” tour with Big Daddy Weave and Plumb.  “So many exciting things, I am just so honored to be where I am. God is good!” said Feliz (Musicnotes.com).
