Hailing from three different countries, Unspoken is a band made up of Chad Mattson, Mike Gomez, Jon Lowry, Ariel Munoz, and Don Eanes. After Mattson and Gomez met on a missionary trip in the Dominican Republic, they returned to the US and joined with Lowry to begin their musical ventures. With later additions of Munoz and Eanes, the Unspoken we know today came together. Their 2012 debut single “Who You Are” was iTunes’ Top Christian Song of the Year, in addition to reaching the Top 10 of the NCA Chart. Their follow-up, self-titled debut album made its way to the Top 10 of Billboard’s CCM chart and included such hits as “Good Fight,” “Lift My Life Up,” and “Start a Fire,” the last of which became the group’s first AC radio No. 1. Their song “Call It Grace” was not only in the Top 10 of the NCA chart, but was nominated for a K-LOVE Award for “Song of the Year” honored by ASCAP as a Top Christian Song of 2016.
Going on to produce a unique acoustic album and then a full-length sophomore album, Follow Through, the band has continued to reach listeners in and beyond the Christian music sphere with their captivating performances. They’ve made an impact through tours with Casting Crowns, MercyMe, and other genre staples, sharing their powerful testimonies through song. Their next album will come out this spring.
